Through the generations, we have blessed our children. This week, Parashat Lekh L’kha particularly reminds us not just to give a blessing, but to be a blessing. This song by Zina Goldrich and Marcy Heisler, commissioned by PAS especially for the moment at which the clergy bless the Bnei Mitzvah, distills the tender moment when the rabbi and cantor bless the child. When the blessing is for a clergy member’s kid, the smile is perhaps just a little bit wider.
