Ochila La-El: A Musical Prayer From America
Song of the Week

This Fourth of July, we are aware of the distinctly American musical language which we include in our prayer and musical life. We are fortunate to have numerous commissions from noted American musician Zina Goldrich, such as this setting of Ochila La-El from the most recent High Holidays. In this prayer, which encompasses the opening and closing passages of every Amidah, we ask for words of supplication, that our lips will be not just opened, but eloquent. We hope that this setting helps you to pray, and that it gives you the tools to deepen your spiritual life.
Music by Zina Goldrich, Arranged by Oran Eldor
